Data protection notice

The protection of your personal data is very important to Deutsche Telekom AG. It is important to us to inform you about what personal data is collected, how it is used and what options you have.

1. What data is collected, how is it used and how long is it stored?

a) Technical features:
When you visit our website, the web server temporarily records the domain name or the IP address of your computer, the client's file request (file name and URL), the http response code and the website from which you are visiting us.
The logged data is used exclusively for data security purposes, in particular to prevent attempts to attack our web server (Art. 6 Para. 1 f GDPR). They are neither used for the creation of individual user profiles nor passed on to third parties and will be deleted after seven days at the latest. We reserve the statistical analysis of anonymized data records.

b) Registration data
The registration data collected as part of participating in the campaign are collected, processed and used by the Telekom Group exclusively for the purpose of carrying out the campaign and then deleted, Art 6 I. b) GDPR. The following data is requested when registering: the participant's first and last name and email address.

The image selected for publication will be used in the context of the Beethoven mosaic in accordance with the conditions of participation (link), see in particular point 6, and is an essential service of the participation contract, Art 6 I b) GDPR.

Registration data (first and last name, email address) and confirmed conditions of participation of participants selected for publication will be used to establish contact and to carry out the campaign and will remain stored with the conditions of participation confirmed by the participant until the end of the period of use Art 6 I b ) GDPR.

There may also be statutory retention requirements, e.g. retention requirements under commercial or tax law (e.g. Commercial Code, Tax Code). If such storage obligations exist, the data will be blocked and deleted at the end of the storage obligations. Data of the participants not taken into account will be deleted after a negative selection decision.

The Telekom Group is entitled to pass on data for processing the campaign to service providers who take over all or part of the tasks to be carried out (e.g. organizational handling of participation). These service providers are commissioned taking into account the data protection regulations. This does not involve an expansion of the intended use of the data. If a declaration of consent is required, this will be obtained as part of the campaign.

2. Is my usage behavior evaluated, e.g. for advertising or tracking?

There is no evaluation of the usage behavior for advertising or tracking on this page.
There is no collection or relation of personal data through the use of cookies.

3. What rights do I have?

You have the right,

  • to request information on the categories of processed data, processing purposes, any recipients of the data, the planned storage period (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • to request the correction or addition of incorrect or incomplete data (Art. 16 GDPR);
  • revoke your consent at any time with future effect (Art. 7 Para. 3 GDPR);
  • to object to data processing that is to be carried out on the basis of a legitimate interest for reasons that arise from your particular situation (Article 21 (1) GDPR);
  • in certain cases within the framework of Art. 17 GDPR to request the deletion of data - in particular insofar as the data is no longer required for the intended purpose or is being processed unlawfully, or you revoke your consent in accordance with above (c) or object according to above (d);
  • to request the restriction of data under certain conditions, insofar as deletion is not possible or the deletion obligation is in dispute (Art. 18 GDPR);
  • to data portability, i.e. you can receive the data you have provided to us in a common machine-readable format such as i.e.CSV and if necessary, transmit it to others (Art. 20 GDPR;)
  • to complain to the competent supervisory authority about data processing (for telecommunications contracts: Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information; otherwise: State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia).

4. Who does Telekom share my data with?

To processors, these are companies that we commission to process data within the intended framework, Art. 28 GDPR (service providers, vicarious agents). In this case, Telekom remains responsible for the protection of your data. In this context, we commission companies in particular in the following areas: IT, marketing, finance, consulting, printing.
Due to legal obligation: In certain cases, we are legally obliged to transmit certain data to the requesting government agency.

5. Where is my data processed?

Your data will generally be processed in Germany and other European countries. If your data is also processed in countries outside the European Union (i.e. in so-called third countries) in exceptional cases, this takes place insofar as you have expressly consented to this or it is necessary for us to provide our services or it is required by law (Art. 49 GDPR). In addition, your data will only be processed in third countries if certain measures ensure that there is an adequate level of data protection (e.g. adequacy decision of the EU Commission or so-called suitable guarantees, Art. 44ff. GDPR).

To protect against offensive content, the image made available for participation is automatically checked using the Google Vision API (according to Art 6 I b) GDPR). This requires the data to be transferred to the USA. The data is not stored permanently in the USA or by Google.
